Hey y'all,

My girlfriend has a '93 9000 CSE (automatic) and I was doing some headlight problem diagnosis on it the other day which required the lights to be on for maybe 10-15 minutes. While workiging on it, I noticed the positive battery terminal was heavily corroded so I cleaned it off and then sprayed some protectant on it to prevent future corrosion. I had to jump start it to get it running, which I found odd.

I then drove it to get an inspection sticker and the battery voltage was low (+/-10V) and after I parked it, it wouldn't start again so it had to be jumped once more. On the way home, the voltage was still very low and threatened to stall at a stop unless I turned off the A/C.

I began to suspect the battery and had it tested on the way home. One cell was apparently bad and it was old anyway so I put a new one in. Voltage is 12-13V now, but there are a few electrical gremlins that popped up and I'd really appreciate some help diagnosing them. :)

- Central locking fuse blew. I replaced it and seems to be working now.
- Trunk ajar light on the dash is illuminated.
- Power mirrors weren't working, but after disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes, they're fine now.
- As she was backing out, I noticed a white light under the passenger, front turn signal that illuminated with the reverse lights. Is this normal? Sorry, never worked on a Saab before. :)

- Lastly, the code for the radio needs to be entered, but the code we have is all letters, not numbers. Perhaps the orig. owner used some sort of super secret code, but is there a common way to enter a letter code into a radio with only numbers ranging from 1-6?

Sorry for all the "Saab newbie" questions, but I'd really like to get her car back to normal as soon as possible. :)

Thanks in advance for any help y'all can provide!
Tommy
