I had another Turbo off a lower mileage Viggen I got at the junkyard sitting around, so I popped off the turbine and compressor housings. It felt the exact same way. I did take everything apart one more time and soaked the core in some gas for a little while. After some extended cleaning and a bit of compressed air I was confident everything was as clean as it was going to get. The car boosts fine and I don't notice anything funny yet. Hopefully it doesn't fail prematurely due to some internal tolerance issue. For now I have boost... and a backup, so I'm happy.
Thanks for the input though, this has been a great learning experience.
