Replacing transmission mount -

I was considering replacing the transmission mount, and wanted to find out if it's supposed to be a press fit into the transmission.
I haven't seen anything that indicates it needs to be pressed out or in, but 16 years of sitting and corrosion might have made it reluctant to slide out.
I removed the bolt and lifted the engine to clear the bracket, but it didn't seem to slide freely or anything, so I thought I'd just put it back and find out about it before trying again.
The Haynes manual indicates the engine just needs to be lifted to clear the mount from the support, but it didn't seem to clear it too easily- wasn't sure if something else was holding it from coming up.
As a temporary measure for now, I just put some rubber pads under the mount to support it, but some of the engine vibes get through and resonates a bit.
