This is not a bad job. I did it on my 95 CS in a dirt parking lot with the help of a strong male friend. I replaced the pully and tensioner. It seemed like the right thing to do while we were in there. I had no special tools. I seem to remember we used a long extension on a bar (that's where my strong male friend came in handy) to compress the tensioner. All access was through the wheel well and from above.
I have NO idea about by-passing the AC as we did not do that.
