Engine is back in the car and it fired up on the first turn of the key. It ran a little rough at first, but that was probably due the lack of fuel pressure in the lines or something.

$995 worth of parts and 2 weeks of on and off work. I posted a question a while ago about what would you do if you had the engine out and here is my list

Head gasket
Timing chain
Balance chain
All new chain guides
Exhaust side balance shaft sprocket
Head milled
Valve stem seals
Thermostat
Throttle body heater hoses
Front main seal
Rear main seal
Valve cover gasket
Intake gasket
Exhaust gasket
Oil pump o-ring
Water pump o-rings
Tensioner o-ring
Both lower motor mounts
Outer CV boots
Tie rod ends
Lower ball joints
CV nuts

In addition, I used loctite 518 on timing cover, rear cover (holds the rear main seal), Oil pan gasket, and the part that the oil filter screws onto.

I'm happy to report the engine runs much smoother than it has since I've owned it and I get no vibration in my side mirrors like I use to. the whole reason I started this was because of oil leaks. Turns out (from what I could tell) was the rear tranmission line was loose and leaking and the oil pump seal was as hard as a rock. My valve stem seals were hard also. The oil pan had to be leaking also, but with all the other leaks, I couldn't pinpoint exactly where.

Also, for all the future loctite searchers, It's been 5 days since I put the 2 pieces of metal together as a test and when I pulled them apart this evening, the stuff was still gooey. I don't know how that stuff works, but we'll know in the next couple days if it sealed everything up. I let the engine sit for 6 days before introducing fluids to it.

Thanks for everyone's help.....anyone want to buy an engine hoist? (kidding)
