cold weather tachometer problem 92 9k turbo

On a cold day the car starts and the tachometer doesn't register till the engine warms up. No stalls or difficulty starting, and once warm the tach performs fine. I have researched this site and have noted others with the same problem but no solution was offered to them. I have noticed my battery terminal on the plus side having some curd which I clean off. Is it possible the deteriorating battery is influencing the computer's read on my tach. Appreciate any sugestions from you folks. Best, GD
