It's tricky to find until you know where it is, then it's easy. Since you have the felt liner out, you are most of the way there. It's right above your left shin when you are sitting in the driver's seat. There is a vertical metal panel behind that liner you took out. The central locking unit is clipped on the back of that panel on the left side. You are looking for a small black box, about 3-4 inches long by 2 inches wide by an inch thick (or thereabouts - it's a while since I took mine out). It's mounted vertically if that helps.
