Having recently performed this operation, I feel compelled to comment. My attempt to extricate the axle from the outer stub, EVEN with the retaining clip fully expanded, caused a 30-minute tirade.
1. Remove the axle from the inner driver, (kudos to QUASIMOTORS).
2. Wrap the tripod joint bearings with SARAN, to avoid playing needle bearing "52 pickup".
3. Remove the tripod bearing circlip.
4. Pull the tripod off with a three leg puller.
5. Release the boot clamps and slide both inner and outer boots off the inside end.
6. Clean the outer CV joint using paper towels. DO NOT USE SOLVENT. Add CV grease.
7. Slide the outer and inner boots onto the axle. Before adding CV grease, turn the outside lip over on itself, ie with your thumbs inside the boot lip, fold the lip over your fingers- -inside out.
8. Fill the outer boot with CV grease.
9. Pull the boot up to the edge of the axle stub and fold it over the stub. VOILA!
10. Crimp both outer boot clamps.
11. Clean and grease the inner driver.
12. Refit the tripod bearing using a socket that will fit over the axle without touching the bearings.
13. Refit the circlip.
14. Remove the SARAN.
15. Insert the tripod into the driver.
16. Push the boot onto the driver and burp it.
17. Crimp the boot clamps.
