Evidently, the HK system splits out the highs from the lows and amplifies them separately- biamplification (there are good reasons for that). You are connecting a full range speaker, which has a "crossover" filter built in. Does the speaker have provisions for biamplification - some do? If not, you need "separates", i.e. a woofer and a tweeter. Alternatively, it might be possible to use the existing tweeter that is already in the car and use the Bostons as a woofer only - what usually goes on car speakers is the foam or rubber surround that connects the speaker cone to the metal frame while allowing flexibility for it to move.
