Not sure what the setup is on a 1991. The intake for the clutch hydraulics is like a rectangular tube molded into the plastic of the brake reservoir; note that the intake is between the MIN and MAX lines, in the event of fluid loss you will still have brakes after air gets into the clutch hydraulics.
My wife does the same thing, I don't believe that it affects the hydraulics, but might affect the throwout bearing and clutch friction material.
