Your re-solder repair job will last for awhile, but will probably fail there again.
I repaired the seat heater pad in my 9000 once like this as well a little over a year ago. It was really easy to see where the wire broke...nice small burn mark there in the pad. Repaired it by splicing in a piece of wire and it worked for a while, then stopped working.
I did not want to mess around with trying to fix it again this way, so I ordered a new bottom heater pad from a site sponsor.
I pulled the seat out again yesterday to install it. What was the small burn area in the seat cushion originally, about a 1/4 inch long, had burned up to nearly 2 inches long in the seat cushion.
Put the new pad in and now have a heated seat again.
Now to do the same thing to my 9-5. The wire in that heater pad is really hard to take solder. Tried the solder repair trick above on it and it didn't really work that well, so it will get a new bottom pad.
