A car is worth exactly as much as ONE person is willing to spend.
If you want a car for KBB value, wait for one that is (a) owned by a non-enthusiast who simply wants to sell it or (b) that is knowingly in need of various bits of work.
I agree with others that some of the prices here are high. I can see the justification ONLY if the seller is selling a car that truly can't be found elsewhere. There's no reason to sell a 200K-mile CSE with an auto for a pretty sum, but the 100K-mile '97 Aero that's not likely to have any competition for a long time could fetch the higher dollars.
Sometimes, people just have a hard time believing that their car is only worth a couple grand.
Sometimes, people don't really want to sell their car too badly, so they don't price it for a realistic sale.
In very few cases, when a seller is asked to drop their price, they can honestly say, "Good luck with your search. If you can't find a car like this one for the price you want, feel free to call me back. If you can, then buy it."
The KBB values work for cars that are readily available. Saab 9000s have so many unique variations and combinations (not to mention crazy fanatic buyers) that the exception is the rule.
Best of luck with the search.
