clutch and boost

Two questions:
1. there's a little slop before the slave engages and I've diagnosed the clutch master as the culprit; as it turns out, the inlet hole is just below the plunger, so it pushes ever so little fluid back into the reservoir (I had the Power Bleeder attached and pressurized while actuating the clutch and noticed fluid movement in the opposite direction). I've replaced the master twice using the ScanTech part. A genuine master isn't available; should I use the FTE option, or should I just write this off as GM-takeover and deal with not having genuine parts?
2. the timing chain slipped a tooth and my intake valves ran into the pistons. I replaced the head because new valves would be more expensive, but is it safe to boost with very small dents in the pistons?
