If you still want the things to work, there is an easy fix available and it is very inexpensive. "TonyJ" had detailed write up about how to fix this using polyswitches to replace the little square semiconductor between the leads feeding the motor. It was in the Member Gallery section but I am not sure if his write up is still there. I printed it out and I have it somewhere in my files just not electronically. I followed TonyJ's directions and it worked like charm. I still have some polyswitches from the purchase I did (came in a packg 10 or so) way back when for about $10 or so. The back of the motor housing is easiest removed using 2 (two) small flat bladded screw drivers to pry and hold open the the plastic barbs that hold the back to the body. There is grease inside yes, but it's really not that bad (less than CV boots). If you're careful to leave the gears alone the polyswitch replacement is done fairly easily with some light soldering and piece of a credit card to separate the leads. New or used ones will likely work but I found them hard to find and more expensive than the polyswitches I bought. If you don't care about them working then unplug them or remove them altogether. I live in AZ and have no use for them but hate the thought of broken things in my car. I am still trying to figure out a way to decouple the switch from the wiper stalk and enble the headlight wipers ot on separately when I want them.
