Update on balance chain removal Posted by SaabDork [Email] (#3030) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SaabDork) on Tue, 16 Feb 2010 18:14:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So now that the snow here in Charlotte has melted and it's stopped raining with 4 more days of sunshine I dove in to remove the oil pan and snip the balance shaft chain out.
I left the passenger axle in as I was able to access the pan bolts with a long 1/4" extension that could get between the shaft tube and oil pan.
I removed the p/s pump to get better access to the bolts holding the axle tube bracket to engine block. O-rings and such will be here tomorrow so it should be going back together soon. Hoping the vibration isn't too bad (it's an automatic).
