Buttoned it up and took her for a spin and so far so good!
'91 Automatic N/A and the crank sprocket teeth driving the balance chain worn down to nubs, so snipped the chain from the bottom and pulled it out.
There is no more vibration than before but I've only had the car for 18K miles so perhaps with the teeth worn down the shafts may have been off a bit and were already giving me a little vibration. Took it on the Interstate and really didn't notice any RPM range where there was any noticable vibrations. As for more horsepower/throttle response it's an auto so I really can't tell if it's got more pep or not.
No regrets.
