Most parts places have low, mid and higher priced options.
I tend to buy the higher priced things from brands I know because I want something to fit, work as intended and hopefully last.
Like in everything else, you do get what you pay for.
I look at the difference in cost between the cheap stuff and the better stuff. Very often the better stuff isn't a huge leap, and I hate doing work over at least as much as my indy does, so I go with more of a known quantity, and brand with a good rep.
You note the Centric caliper issue. They are now a known quantity... known to have poor quality control on remans, so I'll shop elsewhere for calipers until eEuro carries a better brand.
