My '96 CSE had two owners. The second was a compulsive maintenance guy who kept on top of it for 50k miles. No records, but it was maintained by the place that sold it and I could tell the car was a real find at 90K miles. Now at 166K miles it runs great and seems likely to last a long time. I do only routine servicing, but have done the mounts, heater core, etc, etc.
My daughter's '95 CS with about the same mileage was owned by a friend and reasonably maintained, but the difference between the two 9Ks is substantial. Both are good, but the '96 had the extra care that made a lot of difference.
My other daughter has a '99 9-3 SE that was compulsively maintained by the PO who was our neighbor. With full service records I know pretty much what to expect.
My wife's 9-5 was a one owner lease return with all records. Routine service and it works great.
Maintaining these cars by the book (or better) is the key to a long life.
