Don't the EZK systems use a distributor? If that is true, then isn't the hall effect sensor in the distributor rather then on the crank?
I've always associated the engines with the CPK on the crank with the DI systems.
I do know that the 1990 2.3l NA engine had a DI (no distributor), while the C900's of the same year still used distributors and spark plug wires.
We don't know if Bri's car is a US spec. 1989, which used a distributor, or a European model, which saw the introduction of direct ignition earlier than 1990.
