Before we get too far into this discussion, we need to clarify a few things. The only left handed thread on the engine is the main bolt that holds the pulley onto the tensioner bracket. If you think there are any other left handed threads, that could be a problem. The second item is your description of the bolt holding the tensioner bracket.
There are two normal hex head bolts and one TORX recessed screw that hold the bracket onto the timing cover. No one has problems with the hex head bolts, but everyone has a problem with the TORX screw. Here is trick to getting out the recessed TORX screw. Remove the normal hex screws, then take a plastic or wood mallet and tap the tensioner bracket so that the whole bracket turns counter-clockwise. You will find that the recessed screw turns with the bracket. After the screw is loose, you should be able to remove it easily with your fingers. You will have to order a new screw if you have bunged up the recessed TORX hole, but eEuroparts stocks them, and if you are taking off the timing cover, I'm sure you will be ordering from them soon.
