Have an 97 CSE Auto. Son has an Aero.
Frankly both he and I prefer the Autobox version.
His Aero is 'tired' though at 170k miles.
But the only genuinely discernable Aero advantage seems in the wider rims and the seats. Auto box, like all automatics, is invariably always in the wrong gear :-) when you want instant power. But in real life urban and semi urban driving, not having to shift the imo Clunky 5 spd is no disadvantage.
The Aero encourages an aggressive driving style. Dunno why exactly.. just does for me. While the auto is a lie back and point/squirt kinda car, neither better nor worse, just a different style.
It will likely take a while to fully acclimatise to the change, it did me, but it should grow on you nicely.
