I think it's a very pleaseant box indeed, and prefer it the electronic ones I've had in other vehicles (even the Tiptronic six-speed in my VW Transporter van, which has sport mode and manual changes and all the gizmos). It's all clever stuff controlled by fluid pressures and there are quite a few things one can do to fix any problems without any need to remove it from the car.
It works particuarly well with the 200bhp engine which both you and I have, but responds well to a mildly tuned engine also.
Having said that, they can and do break but good rebuilds are available as a last resort!
