Disconnecting Rear Amp? 93 Aero

Installing a aftermarket radio, running rear speaker wire to the amp under passenger seat. What's the secret to disconnecting the speaker output plug (or is it the input plug?) It's a multi connector on the inboard side of the unit, aft of the RCA connection. I am having no luck unplugging it by hand. What's the best way to bypass it to direct wire the rear speakers? The rear speakers are another issue. Replacing them next and I just found the nut that's not accessable without shredding my hands. Oh joy.
