9-5 auto trans into a '97 9000 cse?

I have a '97 9000 cse with a mint body and interior, and a spent engine and auto trans. I would like to redo the entire car over the winter. I have a spare 9000 engine with 90k mi on it, and a 9-5 auto trans with 80k mi on it. I was wondering if anyone has tried, or heard of anyone trying, to put a 9-5 trans into a 9000. I assume that it would bolt to the engine fine, but I'm not sure about axles and etc. I also have a spare 9000 manual trans, but since the wife can't/won't drive a stick, it doesn't make much sense to add yet another car she won't drive. I am hesitent to put any effort into a 9000 auto trans, since I have had nothing but bad luck with them. (I only got the car because it came with my '95 stick shift 9000cs as a package deal, and it looked perfect.) On the other hand, my wife's 9-5 suto trans had been flawless through 208,000 miles of abuse. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
