It is true that the 93 was a tweener... had some stuff that is only 93, the rest one way or the other.

I will comment on the TCS issue though. I fellow, I think in Europe, had posted that is very simple to defeat the TCS and was roundly po-poohed by ones that did it the HARD way. I rediscovered him when trouble shooting an issue with my 1992 9000CDT Auto, T25 with TCS, that had nothing to do with TCS issues but contacted him just because.

We have the full factory binders and had been working all of the wiring diagrams, turns out that the ASR module under the drivers seat locked up internally. replacing that, or in fact just unplugging it allowed the car to start and run. Contact with a Saab Master also brought the revelation that Saab suggested cutting the orange wired to that box as a fix.

Anyway...

His method is nothing short of elegant, and it works. The TCS system, on the automatic, uses input from the wheel sensors that are mainly used for ABS. The ASR module compares the FRONT and REAR sensors on the SAME side, one to another, if they are within a nominal value, all is good. Lefts compare to Lefts, Rights to Rights, and NOT left to right. So.... he put a jumper at the connector in the loom across the lefts, and one across the rights. I believe that the ABS system compares side to side, but won't promise that, yet. Basically this makes the ASR computer think that the wheels are in lock step... and no problems.
