I put Bilstein B-6/US HDs V36-4034 in a 97 Aero and they are quite firm to say the least. I think part of my problem with the B-6s is that my front springs are shot at 124K. Lots of rough roads in NH USA with many frost heaves and holes in the spring. Currently my low beams are pointing right in front of the car and nobody blinks when highs are left on. So I think it's the springs.

Does anyboby have the measurement from the center of the rim to the edge of the wheel well on a stock Aero set-up? What was the original drop with Aero Springs?

Anybody have experience with Eibach Springs which I believe are 30mm lower than stock CSEs? Seems like Lesjofors in Sweden was the Saab OEM and still make springs for Saabs anybody have any knowledge if they still make the Aero springs?

We have a 98 CSE which came with the Aero suspension, C codes on the trim plate under the hood. My dad's 97 CSE has B Codes for the suspension which sees to be the last 2 letters.

The Saab dealer stated the 1998s came with the Aero chassis. Saab actually list 2 different part numbers with the Aero C chassis $291/strut costing more than the B code $264/ CS/CSE strut, and Sachs only list the 312-324 which is a replacement for the 115 253(twin tube 22mm shaft)which I'm assuming was the standard 9000 strut as the only part number for both B and C suspension since they stopped making the original Sachs 115-557(twin tube 25mm shaft) Brown Stripe/Saab # 46 46 758 strut for the Aero and 1998s before 2006.

EEUROPARTS list the Bilstein B-6/HDs as the equivalent to the original not the Sachs 312-324 which they sell for the CSE. I called the Bilstein tech rep in CA and couldn't get through and voice mail wasn't returned to get some of specs on the twin tube and to see what they have for a cross reference on the original Sachs number. The twin tube is crossed referenced for CSE strut.

I'm looking for front strut replacements for the 98 CSE. After putting the Bilstein HDs/B-6s in the Aero I'm wondering if the B-4s are closer to stock. Anybody have experience with the Twin Tube Touring/B-4s and Aero springs?

Thanks for the input.
