you can do the work yourself. Otherwise you'll be paying about a grand for the repairs.
The ignition switch is easy enough, just a little awkward to get at if you're tall, wide or both. DO replace it, as you can be stranded if it dies. Part is about $65-70 IIRC. Need a 2 or 3 mm allen wrench.
The heater core is more annoying and somewhat awkward than hard. People like to say how awful it is, but it's not bad if you work carefully and allow a day for the job. My procedure on a '95 CS is linked below. Get the full kit from eEuro for $155. Maybe do the heater hoses from the engine while it's all opened up.
Don't worry about the clearcoat if you're only keeping it a coupla years. Get it running, get heat and drive it. Change the oil plugs, all the filters, tranny fluid (at least a 2X flush). Check the serp belt and all the hoses, too. Maybe do the t-stat. Watch the throttle body hoses for leaks.
The headlight relay is a common failure. I got a used one in a boeyard, but a new one is about $65.
Good luck! And come back for more help if you need it.
