Remove the damaged CV boot enough to clean up the disgusting grease mess so you can see/access the Retaining Circlip. Then the Axle pulls out of the CV joint .. Just like Saab intended it to. Clean everything neatly then replace the Boot, refill with grease 'snap' the cv joint back together (often you need to whack it with a rubber mallet). Use a pair of decent quality Zip ties, each end at 180 degrees, and it's job done.
First one may take an hours work, 2nd one should only take 20 mins.. max!
Only screw-up is on the later cars where the GM brain trust glued! the axles into the hubs. Which means you need a puller to shift the axle far enough to adequately access that pesky Circlip.
