.. on my '93 9000 Aero. Left side. The inner boot was too small, the outer boot was too large/"poofy" and was hitting the swaybar link. I swapped another inner boot on which actually fit, and popped the clamp off to reposition the outer boot.
Sadly, what I really need to do is get the correct outer boot on there. The axle seems fine otherwise; it's quiet, and a slight shake which I attributed to improperly balanced new tires seems to have gone away completely.
Oh, BTW, if you ever need to get a tone ring off an axle... heh... the old axle rolled off my workbench, and landed spear-style on the toes of my left foot. I learned that if you yell obscenities at the top of your lungs and hurl the axle into the concrete floor with all your might (yes, I completely blew a gasket for a couple seconds, it hurt!), the tone ring will come off in one piece! :-D
