Mark Fletcher just replaced mine with a dimmer from a 900. We got a used 9000 dimmer and it didn't work any better than my old one. The 900 LOOKS different but functions just fine. I may buy a new one at some point to retain the original dash look, but for now the 900 dimmer works perfectly.
