Saga continues , albeit with a weekend absence.. mental health break :-)
Oil filter assembly is off, intact with it's oil lines and cooler. Didn't wish to try 'bending' ancient & critical oil lines. Alt and PS pump are detached, Alt removed entirely, PS pump moved out of the way wired up. Rear engine mount/bracket is attached to the sump.. sigh. Ex system is next.
Engine is hanging on the hoist.
Sump has been off previously, judging by the typical bungling Mech's signature of sillycone squeezings everywhere. The few pan nuts currently removed required serious TQ to undo.
Not ..yet... seen any issue with the Drive shaft gizmo getting in the way. We have an old junk 2 litre engine waiting on scrappie pickup, so it's good instant reference.Clearly the previous Mech was genuinely incompetent. Reinforcing my belief that a lot of Saab issues are generated by mechs who should really be working a shovel rather than wrenches.
