On my '96, first, it was hazards that didn't work, most of the time. Then the turn signals themselves would just plain not work, a safety concern for sure.

I used to be a skeptic about "reflowing" (re-melting the solder at various points on the circuit boards) as having any effect, when the joints looked clean and solid still.

But it really works. I think the solder crystallizes internally and its resistance goes up, maybe.

Anyway, if your car has the airbags, the relays are on psgr side up above the fuses. You have to pull down some trim and remove a couple screws and the fuses will then fold down, revealing the relays.

Do some searches on this site and you'll find it more fully detailed. There's a diagram of the relays printed on the cover of the fuses I think it is, visible once it's removed.

What one does is, unplugs the relay, pries its cover off, and that reveals the circuit. Using a soldering pencil, then resolder all the little solder spots or at least the main ones. Sometimes it helps to feed a little fresh solder to the tip of the iron to carry the heat to the old solder and get it to flow. Don't shake anything for about a second after you remove the heat, then it's okay, as solder sets up quickly.

Worked like magic for mine, emgcy flasher and turn signals both now working perfectly, out of pocket cost nothing.

I did this also on a fuel pump relay for a '92 Honda Accord I own, had gotten really touchy, especially on hot days. No problems since resoldering it
