Congrats on hitting 300k! That's a pretty good lifespan for a clutch too, but then I guess to have all of those miles on a '97 a lot of them must be highway miles.
Step 1: remove transmission
Step 2: change clutch
Step 3: replace transmission
Okay, maybe I'm over simplifying. If you google Quasimotors, go to the Finnish mirror site, and click on procedures, you'll find an excellent write up on the R&R of the transmission. This should have all the info you need. It's not too hard a job, just big one with a lot pieces, so take your time and label everything. I'd allow two full days, but if you want to get your flywheel machined you might have to allow two consecutive weekends. Always use a new OEM slave cylinder.
Good luck with the job, and good job keeping your car on the road past 300k!
