Those wires and connectors are fairly well protected and secured, had to get a flashlight out to see them. Granted, having connectors with the wires exiting upward is not the best idea, Then again, they are in a fairly secure area protected from all but a direct hit from a pressure washer. Using a pressure washer on a engine is bound to force water into connectors..
Adding any appreciable weight may cause connectors and wires to vibrate. Flexible RTV is especially bad for resonating with vibration. When RTV came out years ago, we used it to secure and protect stain gauge wires, the RTV flexed enough from vibration it fatigued the wires off the gauges.
There are two basic types of RTV, the common type has an acidic cure and is corrosive. The other type has an alcohol type cure and is listed as non-corrosive.
