Silicone adhesive Posted by Bill Homer [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Glass in side view fell off while driving..., SMP, Sun, 3 Apr 2011 08:45:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Lucky you that the glass didn't break (mine fell off when I closed the door and broke). If the reflective part of the mirror is still OK, then clean off both surfaces, put a few dabs of silicone adhesive on one side or the other (you don't need to smear it all over), place the glass in place and ensure that it will stay put for some time, such as overnight. To keep the glass from moving to the bottom of the housing, you may want to wedge something in between the edge of the mirror housing and the glass. This is what was recommended by the place where I bought the replacement mirror glass, and my mirror heater still works.
