I still have the original wheels and owners manual (I bought the car new). Can't remember if the wheels are 6 or 6.5 width, but they are the original 1st issue 3-spoke 16inch Aero type wheels.
Yes, tires were inexpensive and long mileage and one of only a few that were non-directional (I said I didn't want asymetric but meant I didn't want directional). I thought about the the asymetric Continental DWS, but they were quite expensive.
Primarily I wanted tires with a higher load rating than 86, which was most of the bunch at 205x50/16. These I bought are 89W.
