Did Saab loctite the upper strut bolts on these cars?

I have unbolted five struts to do axle boot work on 9000s. Of the five, FOUR had the upper bolt almost un-removable.

When I did get the bolt out it didn't seem in the least rusty.

Might Saab have loctited these in? Sure was bound up tight.

What I hit on on the last one, that worked, was to heat the forged part the bolt goes thru, with a MAPP gas torch, till using a ratchet and socket I felt the bolt get a little easier to turn. THEN I put my Ingersoll-Rand 1/2" air impact wrench on it, and applied PB Blaster at same time and it soon began spinning and came loose.

The other side of same car, I tried the air wrench first, when the bolt would barely turn, and it just sat and pounded till it rounded the head of the poor thing so bad the 6-point impact socket started slipping. A friend and I were whaling on the nut end, with nut run out just past end of bolt, with a 3-lb. hammer, and finally on that side, drove it out enough, then back in from head side, then back out, then back in, till we started gaining, and it did come free. Lucky I had a few spare nuts from a trip to the junkyard; ground the end of the bolt back a few threads to good metal and reused it; guess I didn't throw any junkyard bolts into the bucket, will grab one next trip.

Lower strut bolts all came out slick.

I lathered them up well with neverseize when I put it back together.

It just seems as if the upper bolts are probably loctited from the factory, kind of the same way the axle splines are. It would be nice to have the warning. Now I'll do a search on here and also reread Quasimotors on the jopi/fi website to see if anyone else thinks so.
