Rob:
Sorry don't have it at my fingers at present. I printed it out, but can't easily come up with it. It has a very clear point-by-point detail of what to disconnect, what not, in perfect order. I found it on this site.
How exactly did the shop-replaced engine fail? There are failures that aren't worth the work of fixing, and there are failures that might be worth it.
If it ran low on oil and has damaged and badly worn balance shaft chains and sprockets, and oil pump damage, the cost to get enough new parts probably makes it not worth doing.
If it overheated badly and has valve or piston damage, maybe ditto.
You might look for a good sound engine to replace yours with. Rebuilding a motor sounds exciting and as if it's a total answer but it can be very expensive to do right, and maybe still not as good as an undamaged original motor, even a used one with molto miles on it.
It's also important to make sure you've fixed whatever killed the last motor.
