To correct bad fuel level readings, and as a preventive maintenance replacement pump, I bought a pump and canister assembly from T S S. The price is a
bit more than just the pump at about $150, not too bad, plus it is the real thing.

Be aware some of the info on this BB about sender resistance readings is NOT for 93 to 98 9k's.

The 93 - 98 senders are spec'ed for 1V empty and 9V full. In trying to reconcile the resistance readings with the voltage levels for full and empty, it became apparent the sender is driven by a constant current source rather than voltage. That is good for stability and reduces the chance for sparking.

Resistance measurement can be used to correct an inaccurate sender. With the canister and float on a flat surface, the sender measured about 44 Ohms Calculated empty resistance at 1V and 25 ma is 40 ohms. Close enough. The float wire is quite stiff, if the sender is reading improperly the plastic pivot piece may be damaged
