Before I even start, I know none of this is worth the time, especially given the Curse of the '93... but let's please not have that argument, thanks... the situation is complicated and there are heavy emotions involved.
Any writeups on this I can refer to? I'm in a situation where I've got limited time to pull parts from the donor...
Worth mentioning I have done this on a C900 with great success.
Receiver car is '93 9000 CSE auto FPT w/TCS. Great body, high mileage engine and auto box. Presently running but clock ticking and I hate the auto.
Donor car is '93 9000 Aero 5sp w/TCS. Horrific body, much lower mileage drivetrain.
I'm concerned about complications involving the ASR system the Auto has which the 5sp doesn't... I imagine I will use all the brains and TCS bits from the 5sp car and hope it doesn't puke codes due to different wiring in the auto car, or do I have to transplant some/all wring?
Obviously I need to pull the engine, gearbox, driveshafts, and driveshaft carriers.
As I'll want to keep the Aero springs and lower mileage spindles, I imagine it should be easy to undo the boot at the inner driver, and take the whole strut assembly out still attached to the spindle and driveshaft...
I'll need all the shift linkage stuff and shifter mechanism.
I'll need the 5sp pedal box--does this just bolt in like on a C900?
I'll use a new clutch kit, including new slave, master, and hydraulic line.
Can anyone think of anything I'm missing?
Thanks very much!
