I've never seen any sign of a sealant on the sensors I've removed (four, from two different cars). I wish there was, because none of them came out easily. Any kind of non-metallic grease should do the job. I dispensed with the sleeve altogether (out of necessity, destroyed during removal and didn't have a replacement on hand), just put a thin coating of polyurethane caulking on the sensor, let it cure before installing, and a generous coating of lanolin on both surfaces. Seems to work fine.
