THe key element is stress on an intermittent coil. The windings can short out or even open circuit. Heat is an enemy too. Would you agree there will be additional heat in the coil under load? Would you agree the coil will be subjected to more stress at high RPM?
After reading the Saab link article for 2007 9-5 symptoms, I would place the DIC. But the 9000 is a prior design casette. Perhaps checking the ALDL for pending codes, or even monitoring the ignition would benefit our diagnoses.
What would you suggest?
