My vote is to drive it. It could continue making noise for months. If it does freeze up, you can always call a tow from that point, and reduce your out-of-pocket costs by every mile you drive.
I drove a 9K with a frozen water pump for about 30 miles on a cold night. The belt was slipping past the frozen pump and the car only heated up going up hills. I did have to drive slow, but I made it to my brother's house.
BTW, most tow plans only give you so many miles for free and a 2 hour tow is going to break the bank.
