Per Advice from Senor Don:
Re-Checked fuses with them still installed against ground, all OK.
Found that the coil circuit in the main relay socket has a bad ground.
(Voltage from positive battery terminal to ground socket yields zero voltage)
Looking at the schematic in Bentley's this goes to pin 21 of the ECU connector. I thought about testing resistance between the relay socket and the ECU socket. But did not since this seems to be low probability and I could not be sure I measured the right socket at the ECU.
I inspected the wire to the relay socket seems fine.
I cannot find the DI cassette on the schematics in Bentley's. What are you actually checking with the DIC pin6/pin10 test? Does the ECU control both spark and injectors (would make sense I suppose). Bentley's makes it seem like all it controls is injectors.
Also:
I did jumper through the main relay and it failed the DI Cassette Pin6/Pin10 test. Also measured the voltage in the jumper at battery voltage.
So is it time to invest is a replacement ECU? Any other possibilities/tests to be sure?
Just because I'm paranoid: if you are in the passenger seat, the main relay is the third from the from the front row on the left. Correct?
Thanks,
-Esteban
