1995 9 k kickdown cable

The kickdown cable was the culprit to the transmission issue I have had on the 9k. It turns out that I never tightened down the nut that locks the sleeve. I am still puzzled how it works, as there is no adjustment on the end of the cable.
Once tightened, the revving for 3rd gear disappeared. sliding the cable down seemed to lower the shift points. another 1/4 inch down and it kicked down properly while climbing hills.
The car now accelerates properly- and quickly. It was a pleasure to drive.
