refrigerant update... Posted by vtsnaab [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
With warmer weather looming it is time to deal with the car's A/C.
Last year I used Duracool with some amazing & impressive results.
Sadly however - the car's condensor had already been too eaten up by all the years filled with 134a and most of it leaked out over the winter.
The Duracool filled system was WAY cooler than it was with 134a, it took less to charge it, and ran at lower pressures too - BUT - it also cost a bit more and frankly I did not enjoy dealing with the Duracool people very much.
Researching hydrocarbon replacements for 134a has also lead me to another one called Enviro-Safe.
It costs significantly less than I paid before and has all the good points covered as far as I can tell before trying it.
I've ordered a case of 12 cans (it was quite cheap) as well as an aftermarket condensor.
I'll post an update once the stuff arrives and is installed...
Best Wishes to All !
