The suspension setup is also the issue. Posted by Bill Homer [Email] (#3427) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bill Homer) on Sat, 26 May 2012 19:26:49 In Reply to: The mass is the issue., Noel, Sat, 26 May 2012 19:09:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Some of the cars you are comparing the 9000 to have much more complex front suspensions (the SAAB's simple Macpherson strut vs. 10-link unequal length arms), and infinitely more complex rear suspensions (the SAAB's solid axle vs. independent suspensions with changing camber and toe). My Audi weighs hundreds of pounds more than my 9000 and has a longitudinal engine sticking a big weight out front, but there is no question which is more agile.
I used to do track days in my C900 - it was placed in the same class as VW GTI and other similar cars, no way competitive for a similarly skilled driver. But enjoy the 9000 for what it is and have a blast.
