I'm about to replace the blower motor on my '95 9k because it died a painful sounding death this spring.
The core was last done at 125k miles back in '05. It now has 205k miles. It was replaced back then with an all-metal Saab one. I plan on keeping this car for a long time - just dropped $3k for a new suspension, brakes, ball joints, tranny governor seal, plus a few other things. The body is solid, virtually no rust anywhere.
Sooo...I know the blower has to come out to do the core (I'm attempting this myself) but not vice versa. Should I spend the extra time and replace it or should I wait? Is 80k miles on a metal core getting up there?
Thanks!
