Refinishing costs?
Real refinishing? I was quoted $150~/wheel, would look freshly made though.
I DIY'd mine :-) Hey! I'm cheap.
Applied Aircraft Coating Remover (stripper) and removed All the factory paint and very surprising quantity of primer and Bondo underneath the oem paint.
Resprayed with Silver Laquer and then clearcoated with Urethane. Took approx a week, what with allowing adequate cure times.
All one colour, no more ugly dark grey centres and grotty shiny edges, really improved the appearance, in my view.
Fully expect that in 3~ years I will have to redo it. No big deal though.
Handling? Again : with fresh rubber and aero rims the car grips the road tenaciously. On fast corners the speed is definitely higher.
Watch out kids in your clapped out/slammed Civics, Granpa's car is coming through :-)
Real price paid, is a harsher ride, a slight but definite loss in steering feel /agility and a genuine increase on Ox cart body sounds.
Take your pick :-)
