I've had a faint idle stumble described exactly by this old post (although not same eng as the 2.3L)........
Stumbling 9000
Posted by T16 TP 4/23/2002
I have a 2.0 turbo 9000 with DI/APC. At idle the revs fluctuate slightly (a gentle oscillation of the rev counter needle about +/- 10rpm or more around standard idle) which I assume is the IAC valve regulating airflow. However, as the revs hit the lower point I can sometimes feel engine vibration transmitted through the steering. Occasionally when sitting in traffic and idling merrily away the revs will stumble slightly, almost like a very slight misfire - this is clearly audible as a miss in the exhaust note.
My DI and NGK's are in good shape, vacum hoses were replaced a while back and AIC was cleaned last year.
Any suggestions on clearing this slight stumble?
Maybe slight fault in CPS, AIC, vacum hose?
This really has always bugged me, its like having an irregular heartbeat.
